Barbara DeKorne and Ken Bradstreet met during
their first year of college at the Grand Rapids
School of Bible and Music. Both graduated from
GRSBM in 1971.

Barb and Ken were married in 1970 and were
blessed with six children between 1973 and 1982.
They celebrated their 35th year of marriage in
September, 2005.

After Melissa was born in 1973, Barb spent the
next 14 years as a homemaker. When the youngest
child Tarissa started school, Barb spent many
years working at Northern Michigan Christian
Academy where all six children attended school.
She taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades from 1987-
2000.

Ken worked as a youth minister in Ypsilanti, MI for
two years, then became a business executive for a
small company in Gaylord, Michigan. Ken spent
21 years as a manager and eventually part owner
of Advertisers Postal Service in Gaylord. In 1998
APS was sold and Ken decided to run for a seat in
the Michigan House of Representatives. Ken
served in the Michigan legislature from 1999-2004.

Barbara now works once again as a homemaker
and tutor for two of her grandchildren. Ken works
as an energy consultant and lobbyist. In their spare
time, Barbara likes to do scrapbooking and Ken
likes to write and research family genealogy.
